555th Tactical Fighter Squadron “Triple Nickel”, Devil Girl on Bomb, F-4 Phantom
Patch of the 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron (TFS), known as the “Triple Nickel”, part of the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing, USAF. The patch depicts a red devil-style pin-up girl with blonde hair riding a bomb amid flames, alongside a silhouette of an F-4 Phantom II, the aircraft flown by the squadron during the war.
The 555th TFS was one of the most celebrated USAF fighter squadrons in Southeast Asia, credited with numerous air-to-air victories and deep strike missions over North Vietnam.
Their F-4 Phantoms flew from Ubon RTAFB, Thailand, and participated in high-risk bombing runs and MiG engagements.
